EMBODYING CHARACTER
for performers

This is a workshop for emerging actors, dancers, improvisers and other performing artists who are willing to explore the use of their body, be open to new experiences and deep connections, and to be utterly supportive of others as they work.

It is an introduction, or refresher, to the principle of embodying character with an intention of growing performance talent: Enhancing performers emotional and physical expressiveness while bringing awareness, vitality and joy to their work.

Our unique approach is rooted in ancient and modern technologies that explore performing arts as a process of embodying consciousness. We integrate elements of Improvisation, Physical-Theatre, Ensemble-Theatre and the action method of Psychodrama, with Vedic knowledge, Psychotherapy and Neuroscience to increase awareness in performers. Our use of reflective practices offers an opportunity for performers to make sense of embodied experiences during the workshop.

We believe practice that pushes performers to the very edge of their abilities is essential for genuine growth of talent, and therefor facilitate a welcoming-safe space to experience this growth. This masterclass gives participants the opportunity to rehearse and start developing elements that can be integrated in their individual acting and ensemble practices.

This workshop is also the starting point for our next devised project and potential casting offers might emerge for participants.
